So you ran out to Costco and bought your first low-budget folding e-bike, the Jetson Bolt Pro. For the price, you couldn’t resist. It’s small and doesn’t completely fold like a true folding e-bike, but you are now zipping around town.
After a month or two as you have gotten used to the Bolt Pro you start to notice there is a limit to the overall speed. Does it really only go 15.5 m.p.h. and can it go faster? After all the Jetson Bolt Pro is equipped with a 350W rear hub motor and a 36V 6Ah battery. There must be more power to this little guy (or girl).
You start searching looking for the answer but the solutions presented considerably add to the original price of this e-bike. That’s where Tony Quill comes in.
Tony loves his Jetson Bolt Pro for a number of reasons but he was seeking more speed as well. He learned that increasing the speed is as simple as modifying the internal software using an Arduino. With more expensive e-bikes you can change the controller settings but with the Bolt Pro, it’s all in the software.
Watch the video as Tony does an incredible job of guiding you step-by-step in this upgrade. If you want your Jetson Bolt Pro to speed up then do as he says. Needless to say, the comments agree that this works.
If you liked this modification he also has a video on – How to make the Jetson Pro Battery Removable.
