As we continue to explore mini folding electric bikes like the Gyroor C2 we found ourselves intrigued by the Fiido D2S.

The Fiido D2S is a 16-inch folding electric bike that sports 6-speed gearing and rear suspension. The D2S was launched by Fiido a few years ago but is still available showing this budget-buy e-bike’s demand.

The Fiido D2S mini folding e-bike is equipped with a full list of features:

  • 250W Rear Hub Motor
  • 15.5 Max Speed
  • 35 Mile Range
  • Twist Grip Throttle
  • Power and Mode Display
  • Mechanical Disk Brakes
  • Mudguards
  • Integrated Front Light, Horn, and Battery Operated Rear Light
  • Folding Pedals
  • Frame Carrying Handle and Frame Protector
  • 6 Speeds
  • 16 x 1.95 Tires with Mag Wheels
  • HLT-100 Rear Suspension Shock
  • Folded Dimensions 29.5″ x 13.8″ x 25.6″
  • 43 lbs
  • List Price – $799 with Free Shipping

The rear suspension shock and the 1.95-inch tires really assist in absorbing the bumps which are more prevalent when commuter riding.

As with most of the mini folding e-bikes on the market today, they tend to be on the heavier side and the Fiido D2S is no different weighing in at 43 pounds. The weight can matter if you plan on doing more carrying than rolling. We do recommend that you carry a velcro strap to hold the tires together when folded since the Fiido D2S does not come with a magnetic buckle.

It’s always interesting to watch “first impression” videos for folding e-bikes. They are simple and straightforward, pointing out the components coupled with a few action shots. What most viewers rarely see is what the owner thinks of their folding e-bike after riding it for some period of time.

We found a great follow-up e-bike review from Dan Escapes. He originally reviewed his purchase of the Fiido D2S folding e-bike in October 2020 but is now providing some pros and cons a full year later. If you are considering the Fiido D2S then this 6-minute video is worth checking out (don’t be fooled by the title).
